I just wanted to check in with all of you and to ask what God has been doing in your life since we finished up our study of Growing In Knowing God in Genesis 1-3?
I have been continuing the Jonah study by Priscilla Shirer with Shawna’s women’s Bible study group on Wednesday nights. It has been really good! It is about navigating a life interrupted. There have been lots of thought-provoking scripture and application. I don’t know about you but the life I live is not at all what I thought it would be. I didn’t expect so many things that have happened in my life and the lives of those I love. Some have brought much joy and some much pain. What it all boils down to is who is God to me. Do I trust Him when things are not what I thought they would be or I can’t see the outcome? Do I continue to believe He is a loving God that has my best and the best of my loved ones at heart when it doesn’t feel or look that way? My answer is yes! That is after 51 years of walking with Him and knowing He is who He says He is and I am who He says I am. As Priscilla says in week four page 97 of her study, “Yield to the Father your list of details waiting clarity. Ask Him to answer in His timing and to give you the measure of faith required to move forward despite not knowing.” That is where I am my sweet friends. It is very freeing to let go of the fear and anxiety and what if and if only and just leave the being God up to the only one who can do that! I don’t have to figure it out, fix it or even tell God how to do that. He is all-knowing and doesn’t miss one thing going on in my life or the lives of those I love. He has promised in His Word that He hears me when I call and will come and rescue. He has promised to love me for eternity and therefore I know without a doubt He loves my loved ones too and is working to draw and enable them to come to Him for salvation and to be all He has planned for them to be. I just need to place my focus squarely on Him and ask, “What do you want me to do today?” (my friend June’s question she starts each day with)
Enough for today! Have you thought about where we should go next to study? I would love to hear how you are doing and what is going on in your life. May God bless you and keep you and may His smile be upon you. Much love!
